Busot is the small leisure and hiking town between the mountains in the north of the Alicante province.

Busot is a charming little mountain town in the Alicante province on the Costa Blanca in Spain. The town is located about 20 kilometers north of Alicante city and only 7 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast, giving it a perfect combination of mountain scenery and proximity to the beach. Busot is located at the foot of the Cabeçó d'Or mountain, which provides spectacular views and great hiking opportunities. It has an authentic Spanish village feel with narrow streets, whitewashed houses and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Although the town is small, it is a popular destination for both residents and tourists looking for a quieter experience than the busy coastal towns. As of 2024, there are less than 2,500 people living here, so calling it a town is perhaps a stretch. Although it feels like you are a bit inland here among the mountains, it actually only takes about 5 minutes to the rather large coastal town of El Campello (a little further to San Juan) with its fantastic beaches and all the services and restaurants and bars you can imagine.
The residential area of Busot has quite large areas of land, so it is possible to find nice plots to build your own houses. But developers have also started to take an interest in the area. Considering the short distance to El Campello, it would be almost very surprising if housing construction did not accelerate as it has in other mountain towns in the Alicante province such as Polop, Finestrat and Altea Hills. It can therefore be financially smart to be early and find your next home in this fantastic natural area just 5 minutes from the coast. And if you also like hiking and exercise opportunities in a quiet and peaceful area, then this could be perfect.
Canelobre Caves ( Cuevas de Canelobre ): Busot's main attraction is these impressive stalactite caves, located about 5 km outside the city. The caves are some of the largest and most spectacular in Spain, with a cathedral-like main cave and fascinating stalactites and stalagmites. Castillo de Busot : The ruins of an old Moorish castle from the Middle Ages, located on a hill and offering fantastic views over the area. The center of Busot is cozy and characterized by traditional Spanish architecture, small squares and a beautiful church, the Iglesia de San Lorenzo Mártir . As mentioned, the area around Busot is very popular with hikers and cyclists, especially the Cabeçó d'Or mountain.
