La Nucia and Polop - an eldorado of activity possibilities
The towns of La Nucia and Polop are close to each other in the mountains above Benidorm. Activities and tourist attractions abound in the area. La Nucia was named "Europe's Sports City 2024" by the European Parliament in Brussels. A house or residence in this area offers extremely many opportunities for all types of excursions, sports and activities.
La Nucia was in older times subject to the barony of Polop, but La Nucia became a separate municipality in 1705, but the places are so close that it is actually a bit difficult to know when you leave La Nucia and drive into Polop. Although the mountains are the area's common denominator, the area has developed into Alicante's most exciting area for outdoor activities, sports and tourist attractions. In addition to all the hiking opportunities that the mountain provides, the large sports facility in La Nucia is now being expanded to become a giant sports facility with opportunities for all types of sports. A land-based surf park is now even being built between the mountains. La Nucia actually has ambitions to become Europe's sports city. They received the designation "European Sports City 2024" from the European Parliament in Brussels. They are now building a separate hospital which will be specialized in medicine for athletes, and of course a separate sports hotel. They already call the city the "sports city". Exclusive homes are also being built in connection with this sports and park facility of around 500,000 square metres. The new sports facility alone is around 72,000 square meters. But the area is far from just sports. For those who have children or grandchildren have probably visited Terra Mitica https://www.terramiticapark.co... Terra Mitica is one of Europe's largest and most popular theme parks. Here there are both roller coasters and gladiator fights. The 1,000-acre park has much more. Terra Natura and Mundomar are other attractions in the area. It's not very far to Benidorm and Aqualandia https://www.aqualandia.net/en/ either. And we must not forget that not far away is the popular mountain town of El Castell de Guadalest and not to mention the water park in the cold springs with puddles, streams and waterfalls in Fonts de L'algar. Here the river Rio Algar comes to the surface after traveling underground for 10 miles from the mountains where the temperature is much lower. The residential areas are very international and mostly consist of houses and terraced houses of various sizes. Many of these have fantastic views of either the mountains or the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. For adults and children alike, it is a fantastic area to have as a second home. You can hardly find so many activity opportunities in the local area in the whole of Spain or Europe for that matter.
